Welcome back, All!

I recently had a stupendous session with the Sweeney family. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I truly have the best clients ever! This family was no exception, either. Their smiles are contagious and they weren’t worried about the water or sand on their kids. True life creating a wonderful memory.

I met one of the Sweeney’s in New York when we played Roller Derby together. It’s always fun and exciting when friends from my Roller Derby world reconnect and I get to share my current passion with them and their loved ones. I loved shooting at the beach in Dennis Port because the sunset cascades amazing light on the clouds and the waves, not to mention the little jetties that separate the pieces of beach properties along the shorelines.

For our shoot, the Sweeney’s brought Custom made Family Reunion T-shirts.  The bright green shirts were a great contrast to the soft blue,  which really made for some amazing photos. Elizabeth said, “The original plan was to wear khakis and various blue colored tops, but Pop surprised us by ordering custom matching t-shirts. Custom shirts are a very ‘Pop’ sort of thing to do.”.

It truly was an amazing photo shoot. And if any of you are considering a family session or are prepping for an upcoming session, heed the words of Elizabeth:

“Trust in your photographer, and if you have little kids try to step back and let the photographer direct, rather than everyone shout all at once, much less confusing!,” she says. Solid advice!
